Green campus
We walk the talk, our campus is green
We’ve since our inception. Every fabric of our institution was built with a plan for sustainability and energy efficiency, which include:
- Each building collects stormwater for irrigation and flushing, reducing our fresh water consumption of treated water from municipal sources.
- Hydration stations throughout the campus have reduced water bottle usage.
- New buildings that are made with recycled concrete and use LED and occupancy sensor lighting systems.
- One of the sits hidden beneath Polonsky Commons.
- , , and produce grown on university land that is used by our food services provider.
- Solar panels throughout to offset our grid reliance.
- Vegetated roofs on four buildings, totalling 1,600 square metres. Grass and soil on rooftops aid drainage, retain heat and improve air quality.
