Green campus

We walk the talk, our campus is green

We’ve since our inception. Every fabric of our institution was built with a plan for sustainability and energy efficiency, which include:

  • Each building collects stormwater for irrigation and flushing, reducing our fresh water consumption of treated water from municipal sources.
  • Hydration stations throughout the campus have reduced water bottle usage.
  • New buildings that are made with recycled concrete and use LED and occupancy sensor lighting systems.
  • One of the  sits hidden beneath Polonsky Commons.
  • , , and produce grown on university land that is used by our food services provider.
  • Solar panels throughout to offset our grid reliance.
  • Vegetated roofs on four buildings, totalling 1,600 square metres. Grass and soil on rooftops aid drainage, retain heat and improve air quality.
